Day Stealer

Wild Heart Scribe

You steal my days two at a time
bait me into a woe frolic
across a tightrope of cost
You masquerade as the mesh
below me
so I dare not fall
You cover a sinkhole
that is your heart
and wait for me to spill in
so you can close yourself
around me like a
black-toothed Venus Flytrap
but I make it across again
where my sparkle sits on the other side
Goodbye sinkhole
So long, Venus
I’ve seen behind the mask
my days belong to me.
